OUTER HARBOR INTERMODAL TERMINAL RAILYARD, PHASE 1 AT THE FORMER OAKLAND ARMY BASE – OAKLAND, CA
Gallagher & Burk, Inc. was a joint venture partner with Balfour Beatty Rail Inc. on this Design- Build contract with the Port of Oakland on the construction of the Outer Harbor Intermodal Terminal Railyard, Phase 1, at the former Oakland Army Base. This joint venture constructed the first phase of an approximately 35-acre freight rail yard for the storage and manifest inspection of train railcars. It also consisted of constructing a lead track to connect the Port’s Phase 1 OHIT Railyard to Union Pacific Railroad’s existing track system and track connections to the City of Oakland’s Gateway rail development.
